Number of online shops are increasing and seen as a norm these days. Most number of these online shops may actually belong to a person who are still undergraduates who operate their businesses during their free time. To ponder about this subject matter, discussion will be made based on the questions below.
1. Why do these undergraduates want to do e-business(es)?
2. What are the things they sell?
3. What are the problems that they could or have encountered?

1. Why do these undergraduates want to do e-business(es)?
ReplyDelete- In my point of view, e-business became easy to go through since it's targeting internet users world wide. Plus, many companies provide shipping service and deliver the ordered item where the consumer located which makes it more easier. Not to forget about the payment via credit cards that makes shopping more faster and guaranteed such as MasterCard and VISA. So, no matter who you are, what age, postgraduates or undergraduates, since you can offer your sales to the world wide, you'll get more costumers from real-time shopping.

2. What are the things they sell?
- Anything can be sold through online business due to the different producer, different type of customer, different interests, different age, etc.
You just have to know what the customer wants.

according to my knowledge i think the most of the undergraduates try to do online or e-business because of its time consuming. As we all know they need some money to buy there things while doing there class work. so if they have to travel a lot it means they have to sacrifice one of the thing. but since the internet widely spread all over the world its easy to sell thing to many people around the world. and its not that much hard to do. all you need is a good business mind.
ReplyDeleteand the things they sell through online can be any thing. one of the disadvantage is that they can sell any thing they want. so it may can be a good thing and also can be a bad thing. most of the time well business minded person sell according to the age group. may be comics , games and things to young people. because they are the people who use computers and internet most of the time.
most of the time they face problems . such as bad timing. and also not well arranged . some times they don't know what the consumer want. so the e business will not be success as they think.
Well, from my point of view, if I were an e-entrepreneur,
ReplyDeleteI'd firstly want to start the business for fun! Believe it or not, I'd like to experience selling my own hand-made products. The best way to dip your toes in the waters of the business world is doing it online. No premise rentals, no having to wait and greet customers day by day, who knows, you dont even need a business license and there is no minimal age requirement! Even a teenager can be an e-entrepreneur. Plus, we can manage a business in the comforts of our own home.
As for the products, I can see a popularity in purchasing clothes and fashion accessories, be it hand-made or factory-manufactured. I've also seen students selling secondhand textbooks in forums frequented by varsity students.
E-entrepreneurship has many banes but it also has its inconveniences. I think one of them would be delivery issues. The sold goods must be carefully packaged and delivered to the correct address without any slight damage to the goods. Something as tedious as that can be nerve wrecking if the product happens to be on high-demand!
Moreover, money transfer/payment can be a problem too. Important digits, like credit card numbers and bank account numbers are typed out/sent on the website. Security is a key issue for that. There are cases where consumers were conned when they typed their credit card numbers in a "secure" website.
Customers in today's marketplace want quality products and information in a quick and easy way which I also agree by using the internet because of its benefits that is of speed and convenience. That is why teenagers- referring more to undergraduates doing e-entrepreneurs- have grabbed this opportunity by using internet as their central for business dealings. It helps make a company more customer-friendly and creates more efficient exchange of information, products and services.
ReplyDeleteMost undergraduates do not have a lot of time specially money to work on business procedure traditionally such as sending hundreds of direct mailings of papers, postage and all which is costly. Therefore these traditional business approaches can be replaced in an alternative way via internet by sending out a bulk e-mail, which is easier to carry out, and just by a pocketbook, and also think about the cost of paying rent at a physical location opposed to the cost of maintaining an online site. Users also need not be in the same physical location as an e-business exchange of information and transaction take place at anytime , 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within any location in the world with internet access. Physical location is restricted by size and limited to only customers that can get there, while online store has a global market place with customers and information seekers already waiting in line.
Other benefit that young e-entrepreneurs can get by doing e-business through the internet is efficiency and effectiveness in dealing and communicating with customers. Customers receive highly customizable service. Flexibility, availability and faster response times is what they can get with online support. In this era of technology, teenagers don’t talk, they chat, because being online is more convenient than talking in telephone. Even for undergraduates who does e-business can still connect with customers by online chatting in class! (not a good idea but at least they don’t make noise like talking in the phone) . Point is, there is no “business closed for the day” in e-business. Therefore it’s also a faster delivery cycle with online sales, helping strengthen the customer and business relationship. Having a better understanding of your customers will help to improve customer satisfaction.
